September 2023 Blog Income Report

Hey there! Welcome to my September 2023 Blog Income Report. On my previous reports I only wrote about blog #1. From this report on I will be adding this blog (Cents from Home) to the reports. So you’ll see from now on Blog #1 and Blog #2. Check my June 2023 blog income report where I explain my blogging project.

In summary, I have 3 blogs: Blog #1, Blog #2 (this blog) and Blog #3. My blog reports from now on will be about Blog #1 and Blog #2.

Currently, I am focused on creating content for Blog #1 to increase my sessions and hopefully, one day, apply to Mediavine.

The following information is related only to Blog #1.

Goals for September 2023 (Recap)

My goals for Blog #1 for September 2023 were:

Publish 7 posts (FAILED: I published 1)
Income: $46 (FAILED: $43.05)
Sessions: 9,254 (FAILED: 8,035)

Review

Last month was not a good month. I failed to accomplish all my goals. The previous month I had already seen a decrease towards the end. This month started with low sessions and even though sessions increased, it wasn’t as I had expected. I started checking what could have been the cause of this decreases and found that Google had rolled out a new algorithm update on September 2023. I looked on forums and groups and realized that many bloggers had seen a decrease in sessions during this time. I’ll wait until next month to see how my blog does when everything stabilizes.
